Neenah Public Library is hosting Neenah native Nancy Wall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. Wall will discuss her book Pulled by the Heart, her real-life story of living and escaping the Middle East.
When Nancy leaves the United States to marry the man she loves in the Middle East, she discovers she has married the culture of the Middle East as well. She moves from Beirut’s bloody civil war to the sand dunes, camels, and riches of the Persian Gulf. While she embraces and thrives in this culture of nomads and millionaires, a sudden change in her husband’s behavior threatens her life and that of her two children. Her choice is simple: Submit to her husband’s demands in the Middle East or find the courage to leave the very things she loves the most and seek her freedom in the United States. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library. Copies will be available for purchase at the event.
