Some of you may have read part of it for my spotlight.
Here it is:
Delusions and horrific violence have left beautiful, psychotic Anna Lang with a string of gruesome deaths behind her. Only her powerful family has kept her from an institution for the criminally insane, but their patience is over. Her latest episode has landed Anna on the couch of the famous psychiatrist, Dr. James. He is her last chance before her father puts her away for good. Dr. James is more than just a great psychiatrist. He has a special gift: a psychic connection with patients so he can share their visions.
Despite their acrimonious divorce, Anna’s ex-husband Harry remains a constant presence in her life. A hero in the military, Harry now runs security for the multitude of Lang holdings. Anna warns Dr. James that Harry sees everything and controls everyone. At first, Dr. James thinks she is paranoid but after he glimpses the malevolence in Harry’s mind, he realizes that perhaps Anna has been set up to take the fall for these violent events by her vicious ex-husband.
As Anna reclaims her life under Dr. James’ care, she discovers a phenomenal talent for running. During Anna’s first race, someone stages a clumsy attempt on her life. Dr. James and Anna accuse Harry, but Harry knows it wasn’t him. So who is trying to hurt Anna? Harry has considered killing her, but now that someone has tried, he’s incensed.
Violence swirls around her as Harry and Dr. James form an uneasy alliance to protect Anna. Despite their precautions, she is attacked and kidnapped during a race. When no ransom call comes, Harry and Dr. James race to unlock the key to Anna’s disappearance before time runs out.
